Fiber to Brooklyn down

Update:
The likely cause has been identified (homeowner digging without calling Digger's Hotline), but that will not be confirmed until more testing occurs. We are working with vendors to find somebody to diagnose and fix the problem as soon as possible, but it will likely not happen until sometime Monday. In the meantime, we are going to bring portable Internet access devices and phones to Brooklyn to provide the office staff with communication capabilities.

Brooklyn lab swap-out done

New computers should be installed in the Brooklyn labs today. The old ones had a horrible fan noise problem, which made a lab full of them too loud to hear the teacher. The new ones should be much quieter. The computers removed from the lab are being moved into classrooms, where there isn't as much problem with aggregate fan noise.
